Description

The Ping G400 driver is Ping’s fastest, most forgiving driver, ever. The driver features a T9S+ face that has a thinner, hotter impact area to elevate ball speed across the entire face. The face is 6% thinner and is 9% lighter than its predecessor allowing for extra weight to be placed strategically to tighten dispersion even further. A higher-density back weight helps with forgiveness and allows you to customize your swing weight and you can fine-tune your launch conditions prior to a round by adjusting loft up to +-1º. Clubhead speed is increased with the streamlined shaping, bolder turbulators and Vortec Technology. Dragonfly Technology creates an ultra-thin crown and skirt for weight savings to optimize the CG location and increase MOI for maximum forgiveness and accuracy.

Q
If you adjust the driver to 11.5 degrees of loft, does it shut the face?
asked by Jordan B. on 7/25/2017
A
Increasing the loft from the standard for the club does slightly close the face. Decreasing from Standard opens the face. Again, the amount in minimal.

Q
I've been playing with the ping g20 with the UST VTS tour spec shaft 6S for quite sometime, I like the club, hit it pretty well, I'm 69, 8 handicap, my swing speed is around 85 to 88 mph, I was wondering if a senior shaft would be the way to go with the G400, I'm not even sure what the flex is on my driver, I'm guessing 6S stands for 60 grams, stiff
asked by Jack H. on 1/23/2019
A
Senior flex is primarily designed for swing speeds below 85 mph. You might not quite be there yet but would probably gain some distance going with regular flex.

Wow...This is good!

Handicap: 0-5  Plays Golf: I play more than once a week  Dexterity: Right Hand

I picked this up a couple of weeks ago from a contest I won. I got the Tour 65 shaft in X flex in it. Let me tell you, it's been incredible. I have it set at 8*, but it launches like it's 10. It's so easy to get into the air. The Tour shaft is so soft feeling. The sound at impact is amazing. I've picked up at least 15 yards on my drives and my dispersion is loads better. So much confidence with it in my hands. My dad, who is a 15+ handicap, who didn't want to hit it because it's an X flex, starting hitting long ropes with it. He's getting one himself. If you're on the edge about this club, go get fit to find out which shaft works for you, and DO IT! You won't be sorry you did.

Great Service and Ping G400 Is The One To Get
By Ken S. on 12/12/2018

I ordered a used Ping G400 9 degree regular shaft driver and immediately returned it for a 10.5 stiff. I set up a return and bought both before getting credit for the return. I also traded in two clubs for credit against my original purchase. I'm happy to say Global Golf sorted everything out and credited my credit card correctly without me having to make daily calls because of errors. Also, both drivers arrived in better condition than advertised. I'm was very happy with the whole process. FYI the Ping G400 is a great club and I would take it over the Callaway Rogue.

The best driver for me at this time!

Plays Golf: I play more than once a week  Dexterity: Right Hand

I played a Titleist 915 D2 and I hit a lot of fairways with this driver. Then I went to a Taylormade M2 2016 and this driver was long and forgiving. Now with the Ping 400 I am hitting fairways, with some distance gain and some forgiveness I got out of the other drivers. I like the fact the head is a little smaller (445 cc) and the face sits slightly open to my eye. I immediately changed the shaft to the one I have been using for awhile (Speeder 757). I finally feel really comfortable with my driver.

I had the G30.... It has the same feel/sound of the G30 and my shot shape is pretty much the same. It is about 10 yards longer. So, it's worth it.

Ping G400 Driver Overview

Crown of Club seperated

Dragonfly Technology

The crown of the PING G400 driver has a couple of features that do unique things to aid in the club's performance. First is Dragonfly technology. Dragonfly technology shaves weight off the crown, redistributing it around the club to optimize the CG location and increase the MOI. It also gives the club a cool look at adress.

Address View of Club

Turbulators

Turblators are the second piece of technology on the crown. These raised ribs sit closest to the club face. They increase aerodynamics throughout the swing to increase clubhead speed. They also help with alignment, easily framing the ball at address.

Driver Club Face lifted off of the head

Face Lift

The face of the G400 dirver is also new. PING uses a forged T9S+ steel that is strong and can be made ultra thin. A thin face generates higher ball speed on shots hit across the face.

Back Weights on the club

Back and Sole Features

A tungsten back weight on the sole of the G400 driver further increases the MOI by placing more weight on the perimeter. On the back of the driver is Vortec technology. Along with the crown features, Vortec technology helps reduce the drag on the club by 40% mid-downswing, leading to a 15% overall increase in clubhead speed.
