The TaylorMade M1 iron set features materials and technologies that provide you with a lot of distance without sacrificing control. The Face Slots, engineered for the M1 irons, and new Speed Pocket preserve ball speeds on shots that are struck low on the face. By employing weight saving technology like the new 180° fluted hosel, ultra-thin top line, and tungsten weighting lower in the head, the ultra-low CG gives the ability to utilize stronger lofts without sacrificing peak trajectory and playability. The M1 also features a meticulously designed shape for inducing confidence at address, while enhancing forgiveness with the turf.

What is the difference between a lower bounds compared to a higher bounce on wedges
asked by Kiki S. on 5/8/2017
A lower bounce will tend to dig into the turf more and is typically best for full shots and those with steep swings. Higher bounce tends to bounce off of the turf more.

is the M1 or the M2 irons better for a higher handicap
asked by Nick A. on 6/1/2017
The M2 is a bit more forgiving and promotes a higher launch so would typically be better for a high handicap player.

What are the main differences between the 2017 M1 irons and the 2017 M2 irons?
asked by Dexter R. on 11/2/2017
The M1 irons have a more compact look and design. They also maintain control and workability typically desired by better players while the M2 irons provide higher launch, more forgiveness, and straighter, longer flight.

After purchasing this set and hitting less than 25 balls the face slots began to break and the face itself on 3-8 iron started to cave in.

The TaylorMade 2017 M1 Iron Set

Unseen previously, the new TaylorMade 2017 M1 iron set delivers the distance and forgiveness of the M2 iron in a smaller, more compact package. Compared to the 2017 M2 iron set, there is a thinner topline, shorter blade length, and less offset. This smaller look gives the golfer more workability and control.

The 2017 M1 iron set has Face Slots and a Speed Pocket on the sole. These features maximize ball speed and distance on shots hit anywhere on the face.

Stock steel shaft is the XP95 by True Temper. The graphite version comes with the MRC Kuro Kage Silver shaft.
