great clubs

Handicap: 11-15  Plays Golf: I play weekly  Dexterity: Left Hand

I had to lay off for almost a year with health issues and became very frustrated when I started back to play. I had another set of Taylormade irons only 3 years old and couldn&apost get the distance I had previously so I tried these and the results were amazing. The distance and accuracy with these are a easy to play blend. After 6 weeks I have worked my way back into lower 80&aposs upper 70&aposs and the clubs are the difference. Such a premium club in both looks and feel. Great job Taylormade

Handicap: 11-15  Plays Golf: I play more than once a week  Dexterity: Right Hand

I have been looking at new irons for a couple years, finally pulled the trigger on the P790. The distance, shape control and feel are remarkable. I have never seen such a noticable improvement in such a short time.

The Hype is Real

Handicap: 11-15  Plays Golf: I play weekly  Dexterity: Right Hand

First off let me start by saying once again GlobalGolf&aposs prices and service were wonderful. I got an amazing deal on these irons (4-AW) which were rated as in very good condition. Aside from one club that had some minor scratches, I would say these were in almost like new condition. I also received about 20% more for my trade than any other used site I checked.

As for the clubs, well I am coming from a set of Titleist 716 AP1&aposs which I LOVED. When I bought that set (used from GlobalGolf as well), my handicap was about a 20-22. I needed something forgiving with a slightly larger face since I had quit golf for 10 years. They more than served their purpose and I worked my handicap down to a 15 mostly due to my improved iron game. After reading all the raving reviews on the P790&aposs I decided to go hit them at my local shop on a launch monitor and took my AP1&aposs for comparison. The first thing that jumped out at me was the feel and sound. Not that the AP1&aposs were bad, but the P790&aposs felt and sounded much more crisp. This part is subjective of course. They are also slightly smaller than the AP1&aposs and at address have a thinner top line which instills a bit more confidence while standing over them.

What&aposs not subjective are the raw numbers between the two sets. Club head speed was the same, but my ball speed was up 4-5 mph with the P790&aposs which in turn resulted in about 5-10 yards distance gained (and yes I do know the P790&aposs are lofted a bit more aggressively from 4-7). I also gained about 300-400 RPM of spin. Lastly, the most impressive result was my dispersion. Even with my off center hits (toe, low on face), my distances were within 10-15 yards of each other. My dispersion with the AP1&aposs was much greater with some outliers as much as 25 yards.

Overall I couldn&apost be happier with my choice and I know there are a lot of good irons out there right now. I feel like the P790 can cater to anywhere from a very low to mid handicapper. If you&aposre in the market give them a try, I&aposm pretty sure you&aposll love them too.
