Description

The Titleist AP1 714 irons feature a cast stainless steel body construction with a concentrated tungsten sole weight, thin steel sole plate and an advanced dual cavity multi-material design. The AP1 714 is designed with tour proven technology, appeals to a wide range of golfers and is the most playable and forgiving iron that Titleist produces. The short irons have a traditional design with a progressively reduced blade length, camber sole with pre-worn leading edge for smooth turf release for improved feel and forgiveness. The low CG designed long irons generate an optimal high launch trajectory and provide increased stability and an excellent feel.

Condition Description

Clubs in Value Condition have been played frequently. All clubs in Value Condition are in 100% playable condition, as all of the markings will be purely cosmetic blemishes, and in no way will affect performance. This is the perfect option for the player looking for more bang for the buck. Among the wear that you may see on clubs in Value Condition: NOTE: Some irons are designed to rust over time. This is not considered adverse wear. Moderate face and sole wear; minor groove wear and/or chrome wear; rock dings on the leading edge and/or sole; light rusting; shaft wear. The ferrules may or may not be seated to the hosel on each iron in the set. The ferrule is purely cosmetic, and will not affect the playability of the club.

For the AP-1 set, Titleist makes two different utility/gap wedges. The first one is 48 degrees and the second is 52 degrees.

Had TaylorMade RX7's and wanted to replace for some time, finally did it and very happy. Hitting greens and easier swing. Really like them.

The best

I'm a club junkie. I've hit and owned lots of irons. Mizuno, TaylorMade you name it. These are the purest, longest, and easiest irons I've ever hit. High with no distance lost. I'm hitting these as long or longer than the TM 2.0 and Speedbladez. Long irons are very easy to hit and you can really work the short irons.

Excellent Set

The 714 AP1 irons are a great departure from my AP1 710. Bought the set in graphite with the 3 wedges of pw=44, W2=48, and W3=52. Never mind the delighting, somehow the new gaps work for me. The new AP1's are sleeker looking, with a thinner top line, shorter blade, and overall look of a players iron. They can be harsh on mishits but are fantastic on center strikes. They are long in distance, I hit the 5i 180 yes on a par 3 tee, and the 6i 170 off the FW. I still love my 710's but these are a great update.

Finding the green on longer par threes
By Db on 6/10/2015

Very well balanced and dare I say HANDSOME clubs. Modest extra distance along with tech to better flight the long irons and lower flight on shorter irons. Outstanding spin. If you hit a green the ball will grab and not roll off. If your normal ball flight is right to left you may want something with less offset as these sticks will only intensify that pattern. I use 4-9 iron with Vokey wedges as I prefer less chunkiness near the green.
