these irons take a little while to get used to. i have had a set for two years and i am finally finding the spot to hit it. if you dnt hit it in the sweet spot you will get a short or flat hit. these irons will also hit high. if you always hit high, i recomend not to get these irons.

As Above...

I bought mine used and in great condition, and i STILL use them. Sweet spot aids ball striking and while probably not the best club for distance, they play straight and will keep you competitive against bigger hitters. They have really improved my accuracy and power control, keeping me more in the fairway and out of trouble.

Best Irons I've ever played

I've had these irons since they came
out nearly 20 years ago. Not sure what Jon is talking about. These irons are turned down, the sweet spot is huge, but they are still workable. I have had 5 sets of irons since these, but I always go back to these within a year. They do not hit high and they do not go "short" or "flat" maybe his are broken. Still looking for something newer and comparable. But if you want a great iron and don't want to pay a lot, these are highly recommended

best irons ever!
By Bobby on 1/22/2011

I have owned these irons since 1997. I believe the original sale price was $1,299.00! They did take a few rounds to get used to but then again which clubs don't? I don't know what "Jon" in the other review is talking about, these irons hit low. These clubs are turned down slightly and have 3 or 4 degrees less angle than the "standard", example, typical PW has 48 degree loft, i believe this has 45 degree. anyways, a few years back i bought a set of NIKE irons that i really liked but just never hit them as well as these. So i went back to them and I'm back to loving them again!

Great irons

I have been using this iron for 2 years now. I had previously used mizuno mx-300s and these are very comparable to those but for way less. They are forgiving but not extremely thick on the top line but overall great irons.
