Description

The Callaway Steelhead XR Irons features the next-generation Face Cup 360™ technology that has redefined ball speeds in the fairway woods. The Face Cup 360™ technology in the Steelhead XR irons not only acts like a spring on shots struck in the center or low on the face and increases ball speeds with all off-center hits across the entire club face. The hollow bore-through hosel design allowed Callaway engineers to remove useless weight from the hosel and precisely reposition the weight to maximize forgiveness in the long, mid and short irons. A higher launching, better feeling iron is achieved from the Steel-infused polyurethane layer strategically placed behind the lower portion of the club face to lower CG and absorb unwanted vibration. When you factor in the lower CG, improved feel and forgiveness, spring effect from Face Cup 360™ technology, bore-through hosel design, and the solid feel of Steel, the Callaway Steelhead XR delivers an iron that out performs in every category.

Technology / Specs

The classic Steelhead iron is back with some upgrades! The Steelhead XR iron set increases distance with Callaway’s 360 Face Cup technology. The Face Cup increases distance on shots hit in the center or off-center.

A hollow Bore-Thru hosel design in the Steelhead XR iron set moves weight from the hosel to more beneficial locations in the head. Moving the weight increases forgiveness.

The Steelhead XR iron set also has a progressive CG position. The CG position lowers as the clubs get longer, raising the launch as loft decreases. This results in more ball flight control throughout the set.
