Hello, one of your used BB alpha 815's has a Project X 6.0 shaft. Is the shaft the LZ model? I have one in my 816 3 wood and love it.
asked by Michael P. on 11/20/2016
Yes, it will be the LZ model based on researching online.

Best Driver I've Ever Played

Handicap: 0-5  Plays Golf: I play weekly  Dexterity: Left Hand

As someone who has played in numerous state tournaments and for my college team, I can say that I've tried to improve my game through equipment many times, with little to no effect. I purchased an 815 hybrid and loved what it could do, so I moved to the driver to replace my TM M1. I was blown away by the results of this driver. With minimal adjustments needed to fine tune the club, I feel incredibly confident every time I pull it out of my bag. It feels amazing, it looks perfect at address, and it is remarkably workable for me. It is certainly longer for me than any driver I've ever hit, and I look forward to keeping it in my bag until I wear a hole in the face. I find it to be pretty forgiving as well, from heel to toe the face is like a springboard. Obviously mishits will suffer, but Callaway seems to have reduced the margin of error by a lot, which I appreciate from time to time!

Put the right shaft in it and this driver is the straightest and consistently longest driver that I've owned. Played the back nine at my usual course, pulled driver on 6 holes and hit the fairway 5x. I do not like the sound of this driver at all, sounds like a TM driver but slightly muted. It's long, it's straight, but forgiving its not. Heel shots go low and left, found that out at the range and the 6th time I pulled it from the bag. Shots below the sweet spot are bullets that run forever, caught one low on the face and it was a 200 yard bullet that ran out another 30. I hit a high ball so i bought the 9*, still had to bump it up 2*, it's definitely low launching. I play my FT Optiforce 10.5 @ -1 & Draw, this club is set to +2 & Neutral.

Best driver EVER!

Didn't take much time to dial in. Before I dialed it in hitting all over the place. Once I moved everything to draw and put gravity core down I was hitting 10 yard groups with no effort. So forgiving, I hit a 215 yarder off the toe. Yardage is incredible, don't think I can ever get a better driver than the bb alpha 815. Got it with the rogue silver. Just a beautiful driver all around.

This driver is amazing. I couldn't believe how well it hits.

I tried 4-5 different drivers at the local shop and none of them felt just right and none of them could consistently help me get past 240 yards, while I was generally around 260 with the club I had been borrowing.

I took a risk and bought a used Alpha 815 with a 10.5* loft and an Aldila Rogue 70 shaft. I'd never hit this model, but something about it made me really excited.

I can consistently drive 280 yards now and hit fairways all day. This club helps me play better than I ever thought I could.

The Callaway Big Bertha Alpha 815 Driver

The Big Bertha Alpha 815 driver should and will find its way into most golfers’ bags. Callaway managed to lower spin and increase forgiveness, and this combination is achieved through multi-material construction, RMOTO face technology, and multiple adjustment capabilities including the Gravity Core.

The Big Bertha Alpha 815 driver’s multi-materials include a forged composite crown and lighter titanium for the face of the club. The combination of these materials creates a low center of gravity (CG) with maximum forgiveness while increasing ball speeds on the face.

The RMOTO technology saves weight in the club to move the CG lower in the design. This CG shift increases the moment of inertia (MOI) to efficiently transfer energy back to the golf ball at impact increasing ball speeds for more distance.

The Big Bertha Alpha 815 driver includes full adjustability by incremental movements made with the Gravity Core, OptiFit hosel, and interchangeable weights. The Gravity Core is a patented weight designed to vertically adjust the CG. By moving the CG you can optimize ball speeds determined from your impact positions. The OptiFit hosel allows you to select one of eight different loft and lie angles to fine tune the trajectory. The adjustable one and seven gram weights in the toe and heel of the golf club allow you to dial in the shot shape of the driver.

The Big Bertha Alpha 815 driver is available in 8 and 10.5 degrees and comes equipped with a Fujikura Speeder Motore 565 shaft. However, there are multiple custom options available.
