The TaylorMade R9 irons are cast from stainless steel and feature a classic look and shape. They each feature a Velocity-Control Chamber (VCC) which provides a higher COR for more distance and works in unison with a silicone shock absorber and vibration-reducing badge in the cavity for less vibration and great feel. The VCC chamber also wraps around the face of the long irons (through the 6-iron) for an even higher COR. TaylorMade's Inverted Cone Technology is optimized for a 10% improvement in consistency and distance control.

Great Irons

Really a great set of irons. I could feel the confidence at address because the size of the clubhead. Quite forgiving and not as long (length of the club) as the burners. I was hitting on the sole of the burners which let me know they were to long. Not the case with the R9's. I also shoot between 90 to 100, and found these to not be "too much club" for my skill level. Great buy...

First 9 hole round i played with these and the burner superfast driver, I shot a 36. Best round of my life and im hoping that i can even get that lower, in hope for a golf scholarship when i graduate next year.

Best irons I ever had...

These irons are exactly like everyone says... Awesome! Currently I'm playing a combo set but I believe I'm coming back to the R9's because they really feel great and give you great distance and they are straight but not overdone like some of the other bulky game improvement irons. You get the forgiveness but it almost feels like your playing a players iron. Try them once and your hooked!

Awesome set of irons. Actually have gained an extra 10- 15 yards per club than my last set of Wilson C-6s. Another great set of irons from Taylormade.

These are your U-try selections. Only U-try eligible clubs appear here. 2 club limit.

Our U-try golf club demo program lets you try out a brand new golf club from the game's top brands for 14 days and only $25 a club. That's right—you get a brand new, still-in-the-plastic club to try for two weeks for just $25.

You get to try it when, where, and how you want for two weeks before deciding if you want to buy it or not.

Want to test out two different brands, or two different configurations? No problem. U-try lets you try out up to 2 clubs for $25 per club.

This isn't 30 minutes on the range with range balls, a pro looking over your shoulder, and an awkward conversation at the end about whether you want it or not.

U-try gives you the freedom to test drive the club on your course, at your pace, with the golf ball you play. Use it as much as you like so you can really know what the club will do for your game before you invest in it.

If you don't love it, simply put it back in the box it came in, use the included prepaid return shipping label, and send it back to us. That's it.

If you do love it, that's awesome! You keep the club, we'll subtract the $25 trial fee off the final cost of the club, and we'll charge you the difference.
