Not a better club for a better price on the market |

I'll be honest, I have a mixed set w/ a I15 9I and PW (both with a Ping custom grind) But that just makes it all the better! Mix and match your set, and PING will match the swing weighs and it all. You could have a Raptor, G15, I15, S57 all in the same set and you would never know buy the feel.
I went Steel, I do not believe in graphite on Irons or wedges. The G15's, are super long (took some getting used to and playing 1-2 (2 normally) clubs shorter than normal. They just glide, so well weighted, and so straight. Too long and too straight, that is why I mixed the set, to allow some workability from I15 9 and PW, 150 out. The I15's Play shorter than the G15's even with the lofts adjusted.. it is easy to tell, but you do lose some workability. Although, when I need 200 yards, I have never found that straight did not work.
At First, I had my heart set on either a set of Cleveland CG's, or Mizuno 1000's, mix sets there too, but I want customization. I also want to be able to upgrade part of my set, without redoing the whole set. With PING you can do that, trade in my 8G15 for an I15 or I20 as I get better (Pro's are playing I15's as well as S57's, that is how good they are). I like my clubs upright and long. I am a big guy, and plus that this how I play. No other company could give me the length, the lie angle, and the custom grid on the sole to make my set play for me. Any other brand, and I was working to hard with in consistent results. Ping owns Irons. They always have. Just like Bridgestone owns balls, Titlest owns marketing, and Nike owns a brand.
The G15 Hybrids are great too! If you swing down on the ball and hit irons well, but struggle with traditional hybrids and FW, try the G15 hybrid, it plays just like an iron. They turned hybrids upside down. Instead of making FW more like irons and easier to hit, they just made an iron a little more like a FW. Not only are they great clubs, but they teach you how to hit the longer irons better. It is brilliant!! You would have to be crazy not to get these, at least as part of of a set. (they might not look as pretty, but when your 3 strokes ahead, they are gonna look a lot better! I shaved off ~20 strokes! Not just because it was a G15, but because PING was able to fit me correctly.
Look for the PING Fitting system, Do not just trust any PRO at the store. Most of them, could care less and will try to sell you something more $$$, or what they like. Who cares what they like! Does it fit you, does it feel natural. Try and find another company that will go 4.5* up or 3.75* flat, 2" longer just to fit you! If the don't fit perfect. Plus excellent customer service! That is what you want. You can send your club back in and they will tweak it if you need!
I'll admit, at first I was disappointed that I could not get these pretty looking more expensive clubs, because of limits in lie angles and length, but I am so happy now. I thought they looked a bit clunky, but now I understand and see it as pure wonderful function!
Buy the only set you will ever need. Keep them clean, and put on a set of head covers! Your grandkids could play them!!!!!

Purchased a used set of G15 irons. Wasnt sure what to expect from Ping irons. I figured clubs are clubs. But thats not true. These Pings are tremendous. I hit them 10-15 yards farther than my other set of clubs and I am far more consistant.
They hit long and high and are very accurate. Love those Pings. I see my handicap dropping from an eleven to single digits. I am very excited about these clubs and look forward to hitting them everyday to see the difference in my game.
Last set I will ever own.

A PGA pro recommended this set to me and he was right--first iron set where I actually looked forward to hitting the 5 iron. A great set for the average golfer.
