All Around Performer

Handicap: 6-10  Plays Golf: I play weekly  Dexterity: Right Hand

This driver is great. It has a head shape that is pleasing to the eye and looks aggressive behind the ball. I didn't get a chance to practice on the range before putting it into play, but I immediately gained at least twenty yards. I tend to fade (sometimes slice) the ball, but with this driver I never put it more than 30 yards offline, so it was very forgiving for me. The sound and feel of the strike is unlike any driver I've played before and I could actually feel the ball launch off the face. The ST-190 is going to be in my bag for a while.

ST190 Purchase

Handicap: 0-5  Plays Golf: I play more than once a week  Dexterity: Right Hand

The Driver looks good, hits quite well. I like the fact that I can feel the weight of that head and the shaft works ok though slightly less torque that I am used to.Quite forgiving and compliments my strike. I am able to carry 310 Yards as opposed to the 290 I was doing with my ping. This ST190 is going to be in my bag for a while as it compliments my Mizuno MP18 irons.

Excellent Mizuno Product

Handicap: 16-20  Plays Golf: I play weekly  Dexterity: Right Hand

I bought the ST 190 b/c I benefit from metal woods made with the SP 700 material, b/c I trust the quality of Mizuno products, b/c this driver has a real deal shaft, and b/c it got rave reviews on the blogs and you tube sources I rely on (Rick Shields, My Golf Spy) and b/c the price has been reduced to a can't resist level (175$ new).
I used it in cold weather here in Ohio (50 degrees in January) and it performed as I expected and as the reviewers said. The sound on center strikes is muted and pleasing, distance was acceptable for a driver that I have not yet optimized for my swing speed (85-90 mph), and it is great looking at address. I'm looking forward to long term use of this product.

Best Driver I have hit in years

Handicap: 11-15  Plays Golf: I play more than once a week  Dexterity: Right Hand

I have played both Taylormade and Titleist Drivers for the last 20’years and I really wanted to try the Mizuno Driver. I am glad that I did, I hit this driver farther and straighter than my previous drivers. It is very light and extremely forgiving, even mis-hits seem to get good distance. I absolutely love this driver and would highly recommend it. I let a friend try it out on a few tee boxes and he loved it so much he bought one the next day.

Great value product in the elite tier of available drivers

Very forgiving driver with a hot face. Low spin by nature and will produce very long straight balls when contact is made slightly high of the center of the face. Toe sided shots won't penalize you too heavily. Mizuno has really caught up with their fairway woods/drivers and the ST series is fantastic.

Found a steal of a deal. It won’t cure my baseball slice. But that’s on me. Not the club. Sound/feel 10/10

Technology / Specs

Mizuno ST190 drivers get a face lift with all new looks and performance features. Learn about what’s new here.

Forged SP700 Ti Face

Mizuno uses a special titanium, called SP700 TI to construct the face of the ST190 driver. The metal is incredibly strong, allowing it to be made thinner and therefore faster than a more traditional 6-4 titanium. SP700 TI also increase what Mizuno calls the CORTECH area of the face. Basically, the sweet spot is bigger and more forgiving.

Carbon Composite Crown

On theme with the thin face is the new Carbon Composite crown. Weighing only 12 grams, the new crown allowed designers to reposition 7 grams of excess weight around the head. The result is lower spin rate and higher ball speeds.

Amplified Wave Technology

Mizuno’s Wave technology on the sole of the ST190 driver got a redesign too. As a reminder, Wave technology allows the sole to flex and rebound at impact, transferring energy to the golf ball for greater distance.

This version of Wave technology has a wider 1st wave, which sits directly behind the face. Adding width causes more of the face to flex a greater amount. Therefore, more of the club face gets higher ball speed diminishing the yardage penalty for mishits.

Back Weighting

A 6-gram, fixed weight on the sole of the ST190 driver optimizes the CG location for better launch conditions. It also, according to Mizuno, adds 300gcm2 of MOI/forgiveness.

The adjustable hosel on the ST190 drivers lets you change the loft +/- 2 degrees and adjust the lie angle to optimize ball flight. The chart below shows the relationship between loft and lie angle. Each degree of loft corresponds to 0.75 degrees of lie angle.
