Technology / Specs
The Callaway Apex Pro 19 irons pack the performance features of the Apex 19 irons into a more compact package that better players prefer. Here’s a closer look at those features.
Forged Carbon Steel Body
To give the Apex Pro 19 irons incredibly soft feel, Callaway made the body out of a forged 1025 mild carbon steel. The softer feel is similar to what you might expect from a forged muscle back or split cavity iron. Using that particular steel also produces a solid sound at impact.
360 Face Cup
Apex Pro 19 irons also have 360 Face Cup technology. To explain, the face forms a cup around the perimeter, creating a flexible rim that flexes at impact. This rim increases ball speed and distance across the face.
Urethane Microspheres
Further adding to the feel of the Apex Pro 19 irons is a layer of Urethane Microspheres, placed behind the face. This material has over one million air pockets, absorbing vibrations without affecting ball speed.
MIM’d Tungsten Weight
Each Apex Pro 19 iron has a MIM’d tungsten weight (metal injected molded), inside, near the toe of the club. Callaway uses a combination of steel and tungsten, unique to each club in the set. An Apex Pro 19 iron has on average of 50 grams of tungsten. The weight optimizes the CG location for ideal launch conditions. It also helps with forgiveness, adding weight to the perimeter.
