Description

The Callaway Epic Flash Sub Zero fairway wood features an ultra-thin, forged Carpenter 455 steel clubface with Face Cup technology and new Flash Face technology to promote fast ball speed on both center and off-center hits. The innovative Jailbreak Technology incorporates two internal bars that stiffen the body, placing more impact load on the face for fast ball speed while the new, lighter OptiFit hosel design saves weight and offers a wide range of loft and lie adjustability. Switch weight positions (16g and 2g) between front and back to adjust launch, spin and trajectory.

Flash Face

Callaway engineers have put Flash Face, the same revolutionary technology used in the Epic Flash drivers, into the Epic Flash Sub Zero fairway wood. Artificial Intelligence and machine learning were used to create thousands of iterations of the face to find the optimal design. The result increases ball speed across the face, especially on shots hit in the sweet spot, translating to explosive distance.

Jailbreak Technology is back in the Epic Flash Sub Zero fairway wood. Two vertical bars behind the face stiffen the body and transfer more energy to the golf ball at impact. Adding energy increases ball speed.

Forged Face Cup

The face of the Epic Flash Sub Zero fairway wood is made of a Forged 455 Carpenter steel combined with Callaway’s Face Cup technology. The steel is strong and hot (not temperature-wise), delivering more ball speed. Face Cup technology refers to the shape the face is designed in. The face isn’t flat, wrapping around to the crown and sole. This creates a kind of springboard effect, adding more ball speed on shots across the face.

New OptiFit Hosel

Callaway brings back adjustability to their fairway woods on the Epic Flash in a new OptiFit hosel. The hosel still adjusts the loft a total of 3 degrees (+/- 1 degree, +2 degrees) and opens or closes the face. The adaptor is shorter than OptiFit hosels used in the past fairway woods. The shorter hosel saves weight, allowing it to be moved around the head to optimize the CG location for ideal launch conditions.

Sole Weight

There are also 2 interchangeable sole weights on the Epic Flash Sub Zero fairway wood. A 16-gram weight and a 2-gram weight control ball flight and spin. Place the 16g weight near the face to knock down ball flight and spin. Place the 16g weight in the opposite position to increase launch angle and spin numbers.
