The Cleveland RTX-4 Tour Satin wedge offers the latest in spin-generating technology, new grind options, and more to help you shoot lower scores. Discover all there is to know about these wedges below.
4th Generation Rotex Face Technology
Wedge performance starts with spin. Cleveland's 4th Generation Rotex Face Technology produces more spin in all conditions in 3 ways.
Starting from the bottom, new Rotex Milling mimicks the typical strike pattern on a wedge shot, producing more back spin. You'll also notice the more aggressive milling on the toe of the RTX-4 wedges. This gives more spin and control to shots hit out on the toe.
In between the main grooves on the face is a longer-lasting laser milling. This combines with the main grooves to increase friction and, therefore, spin.
Finally, shaper Tour Zip grooves are cut deep into the clubface. So, no matter what conditions you find yourself in, these wedges consistently perform.
Available Grind Options
There are 4 grind options on the RTX-4 wedges, including a new grind option over pervious generations. We'll go over them from left to right from the picture above.
The highest bounce grind offered is the Full grind. Its perfect for a neutral-to-steep swinger and in medium-to-soft conditions. It also works great out of the bunker.
The most common grind option is the Mid grind. It fits the same swing/conditions as the Full grind but is best suited for full and pitch shots. The Mid grind has a V-shaped sole that helps it get through the turf better for consistent contact.
Players that have a neutral-to-shallow attack angle with wedges will find the Low grind as the best fit. A familiar C-grind on the sole makes this grind extremely versatile. Players can open or close the face, hitting all varieties of shots.
New on the RTX-4 wedges is the X-Low grind. This grind, avaialable in 58-degree and 60-degree wedges, fits shallow swingers that play in extremly tight playing conditions. The smaller C-grind also makes hitting flop shots easier.
Shape and Feel
The RTX-4 wedges have a new tour-inspired head shape that progress as you move through the lofts. Starting with the lower lofts, the head is more compact and has less offset than previous wedges, a look perferred by better (Tour) players. The leading edges is also very straight. As you move to higher lofts, the head shape becomes more traditional, with a rounder leading edge for pitch and chip shots.
These RTX-4 wedges also have exceptional feel. Feel Balancing Technology takes weight from the hosel, moving the CG closer to the center of the clubface to enhance the feel at impact. The CG also moves based on the loft. This creates the ideal height and spin for every type of shot.
The Tour Satin finish reduces glare and gives the wedge a classic look.
