The Mizuno MP-18 MMC irons feature a multi-material construction and are the most forgiving club in the MP-18 line. Keep reading to see what other traits make this iron perform.
Mizuno is known for their exceptional feel of their irons. To enhance this feel on the MP-18 MMC irons, the company uses a process called Grain Flow Forged HD. The process puts a higher density of the continous grain structure in the impact area of the club. Doing this produces a soft, solid feel.
The Mizuno MP-18 MMC irons are made from multiple materials. They start with 1025E Pure Select carbon steel, which makes up most of the club head. This soft steel has 6 times the industry standrad tolerance for grain purity, giving the club its overall feel.
There is also a forged titanium muscle and tungesten weight in the toe of each iron. The use of lighter titanium allows weight to be moved around the head for more forgiveness. The tungsten in the toe also increases the MOI and launch angle.
A satin nickel chrome finish gives the MP-18 MMC irons a classy look that doesn't give off a glare. The head is also designed to give the best feel and feedback at impact. Mizuno calls this Harmonic Impact Technology.
