The club features Active Recoil Channel 2.0, a design aspect that has been improved to flex more at impact in order to reduce spin and increase ball speed. Additionally, the fairway wood has a variable thickness face insert, which gives off-center shots greater distance. The workable 917F3 has a compact 169cc classic pear profile and delivers a slightly lower launch angle and spin rate than the 179cc 917F2 Fairway Wood.

Technology / Specs

The Titleist 917F3 fairway wood features the new SureFit CG slot in the sole. Players are able to alter the CG location with a weight cartridge. By changing the position of the weight, users alter ball flight left, right, higher, and lower.

The Active Recoil Channel 2.0 increases ball speed across the face of the club and lowers spin for distance. Stretching the majority of the length of the sole, it flexes at impact and transfers that energy to the golf ball.

A variable thickness face insert on the Titleist 917F3 fairway wood also creates more ball speed on off-center hits.

The 917F3 has a more compact shape versus the 917F2. It also offers more workability as well as lower spin and launch comapred to the 917F2.
