I've played 913 and 915 Titleist drivers in the past, purchased in good condition at a discounted price, a year or two after release. I've had great success with those drivers and read the reviews for 917 adjustability and improved sound and feel over 915. Titleist are not the longest drivers I've played but they've always been very accurate. The mint condition 917D3 I purchased is fantastic...as advertised..improved sound at impact over 915 for sure and I'm getting about the same distance and better percentages in fairways hit.

Great Club, SLOW Shipping -- 3Balls is in no hurry |

I ordered this club with ground shipping (a level up from "economy" -- still paid $3-4 even with the "free shipping" promo) thinking that it wouldn't take long to get from Raleigh/Durham, NC to Charlotte, NC -- it's a 2.5 hour drive. Shipping time? Over ten days.
Ordered the club on a Tuesday morning and requested a re-grip. According to the website, clubs ordered before Noon usually ship the same day, while clubs ordered in the afternoon usually ship the next day. Re-gripping usually takes an extra day. So to be fair, I should have expected some delay, but the club didn't ship until Thursday evening, and then was shipped using FedEx Smartpost. For those who are unfamiliar with Smartpost, this is an economy level shipping service wherein shippers can save some money by having packages transferred to the local post office for final delivery once the package is in the destination city. Honestly, I'm sort of curious what "economy" level shipping actually refers to on this website if "ground" is acutally Smartpost. Added to all this, I actually emailed customer service on Wednesday, a day before the club shipped, asking if there was any way I could pay for upgraded shipping to ensure I recieved the club on time, but was lied to and told that the club had already shipped. Long story short -- it's apparent to me that 3Balls dragged their feet on this order and really did the bare minimum to get it out the door in a timely fashion or to ensure that my experience was positive. That's a shame because their products are usually top notch. I don't get a lot of chances to get out and play golf with my schedule, and this really threw a wrench in my plans for the next couple of weeks. Just be AWARE that if you need the club within a a week, you should probably pay the premium to ensure it is shipped properly. Really a negative experience this time around -- it will be hard for me to recommend 3Balls in good conscience from here on out.

Great driver! Went with a D3 instead of a D2 and I am extremely happy! I can work the ball to either side of the fairway without losing distance. Bought in very good condition, but when I unwrapped it there wasn't even a ball mark on the face or any sign that it had even been hit at all!

Extra 10 % |

An excellent Play Club. My good hits are about 10% further than with my old 909, and on line. My mishits are about 20% further, and on line. I like the extra stiff shaft. The feel of the ball compressing and releasing make paying this club enjoyable.

I really like this club, and if we were all pragmatic golfers, we would probably play this or the D2. This is just a fairway finder. The only thing is that it can be a little short. Especially on bad swings and miss hits. The sweet spot is not the hottest in the world and it doesn't run forever when it hits the ground like recent cobra drivers. The cg isnt way in the back of the head like on a ping. Its just a nice middle of the road type of club.
