The TaylorMade Burner 2.0 irons have been individually engineered in order to promote more distance, consistent distance gapping, improved playability, and better sound and feel. Each features a Multi-Functional Sole that reduces turf drag and lowers the center of gravity to produce higher, longer flying shots. Each iron also features flight-control shafts that are designed for higher-launching long irons, and quicker-stopping short irons for improved control.

When you list the actual length of iron sets what specific iron does that length represent?
asked by Tony D. on 9/12/2016
The length listed on iron sets references the 6 iron.

What kind of grips are on this set? Condition of grips?

they are black Burner 2.0 ? or chrome?
asked by Sylvain G. on 12/30/2017
These are the black. The chrome would be listed as "HP" or high polished.

Beleive the Hype
By Zach on 3/6/2011

Well let me start off by saying all the marketing that Taylormade uses to showoff the Burner 2.0s, they aint lieing. I was at my course last week and I was drawn to go up to a man to talk about his R11 I saw. I later went on to noticing the irons and went on to knock a few balls with them. I was a little resilent due to the fact im a callaway man. But let me tell you these irons do not disapoint. They are super easy to hit and super long. It was weird for me to go back to a "game improver" iron but man I hit these things so consistent. I even added 3-5 yards due to the ease of hitting that sweet spot. I love the feel and look. The top line and sole are not to big that it looks like a g15 or something (that really turns me off with clubs). I love the black matte finish. Anybody can go and pick these up and after an hour, realize that these are quality irons for any skill player. my only dislike with them is the grips that come on them, but that can be easily replaced but at a chunk of change. All in all no matter who you are, youll like these irons.

Burner 2.0 Review

My review is mostly to compare the 2009's with the 2.0's. I really liked the "older" model, and if you are like me you want to know that newer (and more expensive) will be worth it, so here we go!

While these irons were not longer for me than the 2009 model, they are a much better club. I was able to hit these on a launch monitor and compare the numbers between the two clubs and I was consistently with in 2 yards on solid strikes with the 2.0's, while with the 2009 it was with in 5-8 with the occasional really long ball (one 4 iron was 220 right after one that was 200). I want feel and consistency, which for me, was lacking in the previous model, and has been improved on in the 2.0's.

The look is much nicer, a little bit cleaner to look at from address. If it is possible to look powerful, these do. It may be my eyes playing tricks, but they do look smaller with a slightly smaller top line, without sacrificing on the forgiveness. I would say that these are equally forgiving to the previous model, which means they are built for everybody. For those looking to work the ball, these have a little more workability than the 2009's, however, these really want to go straight with a possible draw bias.

All things considered, if you want a set that goes straight and is fun to hit, these are for you.
Good luck!

Like butter

I've had these irons for about a month and played 3 rounds with them so far. The first thing i noticed about these irons where that they were literally long. The stock shafts are definitely longer than your average irons. it took me about 2 sessions at the range to adjust my swing mechanics. afterwards, these irons have simply been amazing.

the irons literally do all the work in getting the ball in the air. as my title says....hitting them is almost like slicing butter.

SMOOTH, great high and LONG trajectory, looks bad-A in black

grips (mentioned above by "Zach")
increased shaft length

Recommendation: I would say if you want to optimize your usage of these clubs. Get a professional to fit them for you.

The best so far

I have been playing the burner 09's since they came out and i love them. I tested these a few days ago and they blew the 09's out of the water. They fly a lot straighter in the air than any other iron that i've hit and the sweet spot is huge. These irons were hitting very consistently and i was able to keep each club within about 4 or 5 yards. It doesn't hurt that these are the sharpest looking irons on the market. They are priced super low compared to other high end irons also. If you are looking for some great irons than look no further because you've found them.

Burner 2.0 6-iron received free from TaylorMade promotion!
By Jimi Weiss on 3/29/2011

I was fortunate enough to sign up for TaylorMade's giveaway free promotion of 20,000 of its new Burner 2.0 6-irons. I unwrapped the head this Saturday and played 18 holes in a slightly misty, 37F day. On the first hole I topped the ball as I was imbedded into the side of a large berm. The second time I hit my new 2.0 Burner I was on the fairway. This swing was 155 yards out and I put the ball 10 ft from the pin. It was truly my best iron shot in 2.5 years! (how long I've been playing). At first the club feels deceptively heavy in your hands, but upon takeaway and downswing the iron handles effortlessly. The deep cavity and aesthetically pleasing style of the 2.0 Burner is much appreciated. Even more so is its maximum forgiveness and ease of swing through impact. My 6-iron has always been my safety blanket, the go to club. Now, the Burner 2.0 replaces my Ping G10 6-iron. It's as if I have excaliber in my 26 handicap hands. And that near miraculous shot stuck right in on the dance floor? I ended up with a birdie, my second one ever, on the 2nd most difficult hole on the course.
