I just bought these a week ago from Global Golf. I have played 3 rounds with them and all I can say is "there awesome". Great feel, outstanding distance, and very accurate. The best set of irons I have ever hit. You won't regret buying these irons. My golfing buddy just bought a set of Callaway X-22's. He hit my 845s SILVER SCOT a few times and he is going to buy a set also..

great buy

Being an average golfer, 61 who hadn't played in 40 years, I went to a discount store and bought a set of over priced clubs. About a year later I had the opportunity to purchase a used set of Tommy Armour 845s Silver Scots. They immediately took 10-12 strokes off my game.
I don't know if I will ever break par, but I do know that the Tommy Armors are the best clubs I have ever hit! dgw

My dream clubs - 10 years later!!
By Tyler G. on 2/5/2010
9 out of 11 people found this review helpful.

As a middle class teenager living in Florida in the late 1990's, I subscribed to all of the Golf magazines, but never had enough money on hand to pick up what was then my dream set of irons - the Tommy Armour 845s Silver Scots. With torn-out pages of the 845s literally pinned to my bedroom walls, I would yearn for these clubs on a regular basis - way too many hours of class spent daydreaming. Visits to the local golf stores (where the clubs retailed for $899 or so - way, way outside my budget) only served to reinforce my desire. I would sigh, and then keep playing the same old set of 'whatevers' that I'd had forever and ever. They served their purpose, but were just such a 'blah'. Anyway, fast forward 10 years, and I'm a 20 something living in Vermont, and playing more golf than I have in ages (ironic, huh?). I discover GlobalGolf at the suggestion of a friend, and immediately pick up a 5-star TaylorMade wedge, which I love and can't believe the price. I start poking around the site's 'used clubs' section, and stumble across the name 'Tommy Armour'. Now, understand that since 1999, I'd played little golf and had followed the tours even less, and what I had seen of it has been dominated by the big brands - TaylorMade, Callaway, Nike, et al.. I had completely forgotten about my previous favorite brand! I did a quick search, found a 3-star set of 845s Silver Scots, snatched them up for 1/8 of what I would've paid 10 years ago, and am now playing what are my rediscovered absolute favorite irons of all time - and they're every bit as good as I'd hoped. THANK YOU GLOBAL GOLF FOR MAKING THIS GOLFER'S DREAM FINALLY A REALITY!

Great clubs

Over the years I've played Ping i3 Blades, Tommy Armour 855s and 845s. Each of these are great clubs, forgiving cavity-backs and yet player's clubs. Though not forged, the 845s still impart some feel and have spin and shot-shaping characteristics low to mid handicappers look for. High handicappers may not like the small head at first (by today's "oversize" standards) but if you play fairly frequently you'll quickly get used to them. They are a bargain in the used marketplace.

Amazing Clubs
By Ryan on 12/1/2010

Four months ago I flew to a relatives and played golf using their extra set of clubs (Irons were the 845 Silver Scot's). To my surprise when hitting the Silver Scot's, every iron shot for me was right on target, even the long 3 and 4 irons that are my toughest to hit. Everything about the irons felt good and natural. When I got home, I bought a used set in Good Condition for $79.99 from Global Golf and I have been playing more and better golf. You won't find a better Iron set out there...especially for the price (trust me, I have spent countless hours in Roger Dunn Golf Shops searching and trying irons).

You get to try it when, where, and how you want for two weeks before deciding if you want to buy it or not.

Want to test out two different brands, or two different configurations? No problem. U-try lets you try out up to 2 clubs for $25 per club.

This isn't 30 minutes on the range with range balls, a pro looking over your shoulder, and an awkward conversation at the end about whether you want it or not.

U-try gives you the freedom to test drive the club on your course, at your pace, with the golf ball you play. Use it as much as you like so you can really know what the club will do for your game before you invest in it.

If you don't love it, simply put it back in the box it came in, use the included prepaid return shipping label, and send it back to us. That's it.

If you do love it, that's awesome! You keep the club, we'll subtract the $25 trial fee off the final cost of the club, and we'll charge you the difference.
