Easy to hit- very forgiving.

Handicap: 11-15  Plays Golf: I play monthly  Dexterity: Right Hand

The VFT irons are extremely easy to hit- they are very forgiving, but they do hit a very high ball. They are large- with a thicker topline so if that is not your cup of tea... look elsewhere.

I have hit many shots that my hands told me were "oh no" only to see the ball go more or less within 10 yards of where I had aimed.

Buying these titanium clubs used, you will normally find them in very playable condition, and they can be sanded and polished without the fear or removing chrome like other clubs. The grooves are difficult to wear out.

They are classy-looking IMHO. Without a bunch of busy work in the cavity. The head design lets you put lead tape behind on the backside of the VFT logo so you can customize swingweight without ruining the looks.

The ascending weight shafts may be overkill for most players used to conventional shafts and I had mine reshafted. They are tough to reshaft however, and finding someone to do it may be a challenge.

They have a surprisingly soft feel (obviously not as soft as my forged Macgregors) for such a hard metal, and kick up sparks if you hit sand.
Still one of the highest rated clubs every in the Maltby playability factor chart.

PROS: They don't rust, the grooves stay sharp, they are forgiving, attractive, and very durable. Easy to get the ball airborn. Shots hold greens.

CONS: Game-improvement looks (could be worse), large size is difficult in the rough. High ball flight may be a turn-off. Clubs have more offset than some may like.

Bottom line- great clubs for the average player. Blade players (and wanna-bees) won't like these, but they will work very well for the vast majority of golfers.

Disappointed
By William M. on 1/28/2018

This was the first time I have been disappointed with the quality of the clubs that were listed as VERY GOOD. The club faces were scared, the soles were heavily scratched/gouged.
