Cleveland's new Ultralite Series includes three weight offerings for three different players. Each model has been engineered to a specific total club weight to deliver a unique combination of feel, workability and head speed. The neat thing about the Ultralite drivers is not just that they are lightweight, it's how Cleveland did it without any sacrifices. The engineers at Cleveland Golf, Miyazaki Shafts, Lamkin Grips and Winn Grips collaborated to build lightweight golf clubs that overcome the common issues with a longer shafted driver. By combining a traditionally weighted clubhead with subtle weight variations, they were able to achieve the desired total club weights and deliver consistent performance. The three models offered correspond to the individual gram weight of each driver: the TL 310, the SL 290 and the XL 270.
Features
RIGHT WEIGHT FITTING SYSTEM
The Launcher Ultralite Series consists of 3 weights - 310g, 290g, and 270g - each model engineered for unique performance and feel. The Right Weight fitting system finds the right driver for every player, maximizing distance gains and overall playability.
LAUNCHER ULTRALITE TECHNOLOGY
Weight has been removed from the club without sacrificing swingweight or flex profile. Lighter and longer golf clubs produce faster head speed for more ball speed and greater distance.
MIYAZAKI C.KUA ULTRALITE SHAFT
Each ultralite model is paired with an authentic, ultra-premium Miyazaki Tour/Aftermarket C. Kua shaft. A True Tour Ultralite(TM), the C. Kua series delivers tour-proven flex profiles in an ultralite package.
Style and Design
Like the VR-Pro's from Nike, Cleveland has also gone for the traditional style at address with the FL Ultralite Series drivers. All three models follow a very similar design featuring the usual Cleveland gold shaft and lack an alignment aid on the crown – a much more satisfying appearance at address for feel golfers or those that prefer the traditional pear shape.

The TL 310 is lighter than any of your typical Tour drivers and is built with a 440cc head that values workability rather than forgiveness. However, the strong and lightweight design provides a level of forgiveness above average for a Tour driver.

Cleveland SL290 Driver

The 45.75" shaft and total weight of 290g delivers about 2 or 3 more mph of ball speed than a 315g driver. The maximum COR area on the clubface is about 22% larger than the previous DST model so you can achieve maximum ball speed across more of the face. We've heard from product testers that the Cleveland SL 290 is a club better suited to golfers with a slower, even-tempo swing and would perhaps be a good choice for senior players. The balance in this club also provides great feedback on each swing.

Cleveland FL Series Fairway Wood

Using the same process and technology as the drivers, the FL series fairway wood represents a true breakthrough in fairway wood performance. Miyazaki Premium Golf Shafts and Lamkin grips were used again to remove weight from both the shaft and grip, reducing total club weight by 30 grams compared to most fairway woods in the market. This lighter but balanced club produces faster headspeed, more ball speed and longer carry for all shots, from the tee or fairway. An increase in clubhead speed up to 3mph is expected due to the decreased club weight, increasing distance up to 7-10 yards.
