About PING Golf Clubs
golf equipment would look very different had PING Golf never come along. Founded by Karsten Solheim in 1959,
the company pioneered perimeter-weighted (a.k.a. cavity-back) golf clubs, starting with the putter. Today,
game-improvement clubs in the cavity-back style are the most popular in golf.
An engineer at General Electric, Solheim crafted his first Putter
– the PING 1-A – in his garage. Professional
golfers soon discovered PING putters, leading to consumer acceptance. Solheim’s company would eventually design a
full range of PING golf clubs, including Drivers
, fairway woods, Hybrids
, irons and Wedges
. PING Golf remains best
known for its putters, however, especially the much-copied Anser and Anser 2 models.
PING Golf enjoys strong representation on worldwide professional tours. From veterans like Bubba Watson, Stewart
Cink and Louis Oosthuizen to young guns such as Viktor Hovland, Cameron Champ and Joaquín Niemann, the company’s
clubs are in the bags of some of golf’s very best.
GlobalGolf is proud to offer an array of new and used PING golf clubs and accessories.
PING Golf Clubs FAQ
Is PING a good golf brand?
PING Golf has been one of golf’s most respected brands since the 1960s, and shows no signs of letting up. PING golf
clubs continue to sell very well while racking up media and consumer awards. While the company boasts a long roster
of current and past Tour players, it enjoys a reputation for making some of the best game-improvement golf clubs you
can buy.
What are PING’s most forgiving irons?
Forgiveness is a major selling point for most PING golf clubs, including its irons. Among newer models, the PING
G710 irons are considered both its longest and most forgiving set. Ping G410 irons are also noted for their high MOI
(moment of inertia) – a key to forgiveness on off-center shots.
What are the best PING golf clubs for seniors?
PING G425 SFT driver and Fairway Woods
feature Straight Flight Technology, which promotes a draw for the extra
distance many seniors need. Likewise, the PING G710 irons are also touted for their exceptional ball speed and high
trajectory.
What PING irons should I play?
The Best PING Irons
for you depends on your skill level and playing style. Low-handicap golfers gravitate toward
PING’s forged irons, including the i500, Blueprint and iBlade models. If you’re looking for irons that deliver solid
distance and accuracy when you miss the sweet spot, Ping G710 and G400 series irons might fit the bill. As always,
you can use GlobalGolf’s USelect™ for woods and irons to determine which PING golf clubs are right for you.
