The HEX Chrome Yellow features a low compression that produces and extremely soft feel off the clubface and generates low driver spin to maximize distance. The Duraspin cover is significantly more durable, yet yields the soft feel and exceptional short-game spin players seek in a Tour golf ball. The mantle layer is made of a tri-blend ionomer that forms a protective skin around the core and keeps the driver spin low for more distance. The HEX chrome has an improved HEX pattern that provides the best aerodynamics ever in a Callaway ball. It is yellow for better visibility in the air and on the ground.

Great balls -- better service

Callaway Hex Chrome are my new ball after nearly a season with B330RX and E6 balls. Chromes feel just a little firmer off woods and irons than the RX. They are as long or longer than the RX which was a long ball for me. The E6 are crazy long for me but I can not stop them on the green with short irons or wedges. I could live with some rollout but the E6 has too much. (I'll keep one for really wet days).

The Chrome balls land and release a little from short irons. Results are more like the Taylormad Penta TP's than ProV's. I can say they do rollout less than the RX by a bit.

Around the green the Chrome works great. I'm not a zip it back kind of guy and the Hex Chromes offer consistent feel and stop fast enough for my taste. They have a soft feel that can help with touch shots like short-siding yourself. And they have yet to accidentally check up on me. I can get used to these balls around the green.

They putt great. A bit firmer than the RX off my White Ice putter insert. I found that I was leaving a lot of putts short with the RX. The Chromes are by no means hard, but a bit firm. They seem very consistent off the putter. This is one of the main reasons I switched. The feel is just right ion the greens.

I feel like they are low spin off my driver. Maybe not as low as the E6 but every bit as low as the RX. Height is where I want it and it does not balloon or seem to have side spin issues. Hard to judge rollout as conditions are odd this year with very dry fairways that roll forever and in other spots are very wet from over watering. The Chromes hold their line in the wind when hit well and never seem to get taken over by the wind (ProV's issue for me). A ball that holds the line in the wind was a selling point for me of the Bridgestones and I see no fall off with the Callaway Hex Chrome. Perhaps the Hex dimples work as well as the dimple in dimple design. I have not tested on a launch monitor and as a 9.3 index these days, my swing is not rock solid consistent. So spin and height are more subjective than objective.

The yellow is nice and bright without being weird, If you have not tried yellow balls, be the first in your foursome and you'll always know which ball is yours in the fairway or on the green.

GlobalGolf had fair pricing and shipped very quickly. They came on Wednesday after ordering Friday morning.

About my game -- 98-103 MPH driver swing speed; index as low as 6.1 and currently 9.3. Play twice a week in season. Preferred shot shape is slight draw off driver and 3-wood and dead straight with irons. I do not try and work the ball very often.

Hex Chrome

I've played many golf balls over the years and now I finally have a ball that just feels right when hit. I'm a senior golfer and I can say the Hex Chrome is low spin off the driver as I get a good role and has the spin needed around the greens. I haven't been one to get my ball to spin backwards, but since using the Chrome my ball hits the green and checks up. Two weeks ago on a par 5 my third shot was about 80 yards with the pin up front on a slopped green. My shot landed about 15 feet past the pin and spun back to within a foot of the hole. Some of my golfing friends use those long distance balls off the tee, but can hardly hit a shot which lands on the green and stays there. I can honestly say a well struck Chrome Hex will hit the green and stay on the green. I just ordered a dozen of the yellow Hex Chrome balls from here and I know now my friends will take notice when I hit the green and it sticks or if I'm lucky spins back. I use Callaway woods and irons along with Cleveland Hybirds and always Cleveland wedges.

Very easy to order and have sent where I want. Had these personalized, and they turned out nice. These were a gift for someone, so I personally do not know how well they work, but they can't make my buddy's game worse.

As good as Srixon Z's but less $$$

I have been playing a yellow ball (Srixon Zx) for about two years now. It is a very high spin ball which gives me a very high trajectory off the tee, good long iron / hybrid distance, and a lot of spin from my wedges. I like to hit a 50° wedge from 100 yards, and stop the ball with little or no roll. In trying to save some cash, last year, I switched to the Q star ball from Srixon... Didn't go very well. I thought they were long off the tee, but anything off center of the driver was a dud. My 50° shots no longer were accurate for distance - I was only getting 80 to 90 yards and the spin was making me question whether or not my grooves had worn off my Cleveland CG16's.
Well, as Arnold says: "I'm baaack!" The new Hex is wonderful!!!
Long and solid with the driver and irons.
And suddenly my favorite shot is consistently back to 100 - 105 yards. Even in the cold! With enough spin to stop dead when it lands. I do have grooves!!!
My only issue with this ball is strangely with my putter. (Scotty Cameron Red X) the sound on the face insert is much more "clicky" now. I have a ton of old shag bag balls at home, so I tried to find one with the same sound to give a comparison...
More of a Top Flite XL or Pinnacle Gold. I was surprised because the feel with irons is much more of a ProV like thud!
Well, I can live with the putter sound, as long as the performance is there... Hey, as my friend (a pro) says: "Learn to live with it, because next year they will fix it, and then you'll have issues with that!" How true...
Just for info, I'm a 7.5 index with a 105 swing speed. 260 avg drive distance.
Looking good for a point or two off the hdcp this summer with these new weapons!
