Description

The TaylorMade M2 2017 iron set features materials and technologies that combine metalwood like launch conditions with class leading shot height for maximum distance, without sacrificing forgiveness. The large, unsupported, thin face and new Speed Pocket allow ball speeds that push the limits of distance performance in an iron. By employing weight saving technology like the L shaped toe design, 360° undercut, and the new thick-thin fluted hosel, the ultra-low CG gives the ability to utilize stronger lofts without losing peak trajectory and playability. The M2 2017 is now equipped with Face Slots, which limit loss of ball speed on mis-hits low on the clubface, which ensures you experience the ultimate forgiveness on every shot.

I am 71 yr old golfer still hit a good ball would senior shaft be better than reg flex. Thanks. Rich
asked by Richard R. on 11/22/2017
A
A senior flex is best for those with a driver swing speed under 85mph as it will allow the club to flex giving distance and trajectory.

M2 - A great Taylormade Upgrade
By Jordan s on 9/14/2018

Handicap: 16-20  Plays Golf: I play weekly  Dexterity: Right Hand

I am and average player that averages about 25 rounds per year. I was originally looking to replace a couple of broken TaylorMade Speedblades clubs that I have played with for the last 4 years. After looking online for replacements, and visiting some local shops, I decided rather than spending $120.00 on two used replacement clubs, just to upgrade my set. After visiting many local shops, and trying out many newer clubs, I really liked the feel of the M2s a lot, but looked toward Global Golf to keep the price down. Its hard to justify playing full price for this wonderful, yet sometimes frustrating hobby. When this “Very Good Condition” set arrived, they were in “Excellent Condition.” They were tightly wrapped with bands and in packaging paper. They looked like they might have been used maybe 10 times. Some of the clubs did not even have a mark on them.

I have played about 7 rounds of golf with the new M2 irons and really like these new irons.

Since I upgraded from the Speedblades I can really tell a difference in technology. They are designed to be a bit heavier in club head, which really helps loft the ball much higher. This is something you might have to get used to, especially in windy conditions. The weight also helps stick the landing much better. Moving that weight, along with a slightly heavier shaft has also helped me with better feel during the swing. Occasionally, I would hit the ball a little thin, and the added improvement of these clubs has basically eliminated this for me. I have found that I have gained a few yards, but not to the point where I had to re-evaluate club choice. These clubs are also very forgiving. Like most casual golfers, I still hit the ball a bit right and left of the target at times. The other day I hit a 190yd shot, just right of the green. When I arrived, I realized that with my older equipment, this ball might have been about 15-20 yards off target with that shot, but now I was sitting about 5 yards away.

Overall, I like TaylorMade product and really like these new M2s. Global Golf is a great company with great prices for players. Great customer service as well. I have made many purchases from them and will continue too.

I loved stepping up to the RSi but then I went for these and glad I did. There seems to be a touch more solid feel on shots and construction. Just a nice feel from top to bottom on each club (iron set)

Junk. Inserts in multiple faces broke. A shaft broke. Overall terrible experience. I played 2 rounds with them. I am done. I will cut my losses before all the irons are destroyed.

The TaylorMade 2017 M2 Iron Set

More distance and forgiveness is the theme for the Taylormade M2 2017 iron set. TaylorMade introduces Face Slots in this version, which help shots hit towards the heel or toe not lose distance. They improved the Speed Pocket on the sole too.

A new Fluted hosel design saves weight compared to the previous version. That weight was then placed around the head, increasing forgiveness and ball speed. You can also bend the hosel 30% better with its new bend slot.

The stock steel shaft in the TaylorMade M2 2017 iron set is the REAX HL 88 and comes in regular and stiff. The M2 REAX graphite shaft comes stock with ladies, senior, regular, and stiff flex choices.
