The Titleist 917D3 driver features technology that maximizes distance, forgiveness, and precise customization for every player. The driver’s SureFit CG allows the center of gravity of the club head to be adjusted from heel to toe with interchangeable weights. With these weights, spin and launch conditions can be dialed in for the ultimate customization. The Active Recoil Channel 2.0 has been improved to flex more at impact in order to reduce spin and increase ball speed. Additionally, the driver features the Radial Speed Face 2.0, which gives off-center shots greater distance. The workable 917D3 has a 440cc traditional pear profile and delivers a slightly lower launch angle and spin rate than the 460cc 917D2 Driver.

Is weights included
asked by Jeffrey B. on 12/23/2016
The weights that are installed at Titleist when the driver was manufactured will already be installed in the clubhead. There will not be any additional weights included.

Great adjustability, sound, feel and distance

Handicap: 6-10  Plays Golf: I play weekly  Dexterity: Right Hand

I've played 913 and 915 Titleist drivers in the past, purchased in good condition at a discounted price, a year or two after release. I've had great success with those drivers and read the reviews for 917 adjustability and improved sound and feel over 915. Titleist are not the longest drivers I've played but they've always been very accurate. The mint condition 917D3 I purchased is advertised..improved sound at impact over 915 for sure and I'm getting about the same distance and better percentages in fairways hit.

I really like this club, and if we were all pragmatic golfers, we would probably play this or the D2. This is just a fairway finder. The only thing is that it can be a little short. Especially on bad swings and miss hits. The sweet spot is not the hottest in the world and it doesn't run forever when it hits the ground like recent cobra drivers. The cg isnt way in the back of the head like on a ping. Its just a nice middle of the road type of club.

You'll be shocked at how far you hit it. Once you dial it in you'll never look back. Except at your buddies ball behind you.

Technology / Specs

Titleist 917D3 Driver

The Titleist 917D3 driver has an updated version of its Active Recoil Channel (ARC). An ARC is a wide, deep channel on the sole of the club that flexes at impact, creating ball speed and distance. The ARC 2.0 is thinner on the heel and toe regions compared to the previous model. This gives more ball speed across the face of the driver.

In tune with the ARC 2.0 is the Radial Speed Face 2.0. It is thinner on the perimeter of the club face to increase ball speed and distance on off-center hits.

For the first time, Titleist put a SureFit CG weight system on the sole of the 917D3 driver. The unique system allows adjustments to be made affecting shot shaping and spin control. The weight adjusts for a draw, fade, and high or low ball flight.

Finally, the 917D3 driver is slightly smaller (440cc) than the 917D2 and has a traditional pear-shaped head.

Below are the stock options for the 917 drivers. To learn more about how to adjust the SureFit hosel, please head HERE.
