I bought 5-PW Titleist 690.CB clubs on this site almost 3 weeks ago for $139.99. It sounded like a great value to me for 5 year old tech; I was gaming "Wilson 45 Ultra" irons, circa 1990-ish.When I got the clubs (shipping was great), I instantly felt like the clubs had a steep lie angle (advertised as standard on this site). I finally got a chance to take the irons to DicksSporting goods for a fitting. The lies were all steep compared to the factory lie angles for those clubs. The worst offender was the 9 iron that measured 68deg (factory was 62.5deg--that's 5.5deg steep!). The rest of the irons were 2-4deg steep, when advertised as "standard" on this site.Again, great clubs (now that I can use them)--beware of "standard" claims from this site---especially on older model clubs.
These are the best CB Titleist ever made. All newer versions of Titleist CB stand in the shadows. I played Mizuno MP 57 before I owned 690.CB. The 690 have a smaller head and thinner sole. Please take note 690 CB are different than 690.CB, the look and feel is different. If you can find a set of 3-PW, 690.CB in good condition cheap buy them.
