This ball performed much better than I had expected going into my round. Longer off the tee than the ProV1. Excellent feel. Comparable spin around the green. A definite improvement over the last TP ball.
I just finished playing 9 holes with the Taylormade TP5 I was sent to test. The highlights are great feel around the green and distance was exceptional off the driver. Feel and performance was very similar to the Pro V1 ball as I used that ball to test against. The TP5 is a five piece construction with ample spin and the cover had a nice feel off the clubface. I would recommend this ball as a premium performance ball and don't really have anything negative to say about it's performance.
I tried the new TP5 ball from Taylormade and was impressed. Good distance off the tee, and control on and around the green was comparable to ProV and Bridgestone B330.
The new TP5 ball performed well off the tee, and the approach shots with all irons were solid. The TP5 seemed a little heavy during putting and required a little more aggressive stoke to get it to the hole as I left it short for half the day.In my opinion, if it’s not going to shave a couple of strokes off my score I’m not going to pay $44/dozen for this ball.
Thanks Global Golf for the opportunity to try the new TP5x. I play the ProV1 regualarly and found this ball to be comparable. I'm 71 with a 9 handicap so distance isn't a priority. Old guys just suffer. Around the green and putting I thought it performed like the Titleist balls.I usually buy balls when there is a sale so I would probably buy the ball if there was an offer like the Titleist 4 for 3 sale.
