Titleist is always pushing the envelope when it comes to the latest club technology, and the newly released GT Metals are no different. Three new driver models and two new fairway models represent breakthroughs in material, construction, shaping and design that result in the highest performing line that Titleist has ever created.
GlobalGolf is here to walk you through this family of sleek new clubs to see which of the new Titleist GT drivers and fairways will be a good fit for your golf game.
What’s New in the Titleist GT Family?
Seamless Thermoform Crown
The Titleist team’s goal for the GT line was to make it faster than the TSR, and the way they achieved that was to leave all-titanium construction in the past and add a new, ultra-lightweight crown made from a Proprietary Matrix Polymer. This crown adds advantages in speed, CG and inertia, while still preserving the classic sound of Titleist Metals.
Split Mass Construction
In the driver line, the weight savings from the Seamless Thermoform Crown allowed weight to be re-positioned, with half placed low and forward, and half placed at the back of the head. This allows for not only optimal speed, but enhanced stability from the balanced mass position.
New Face Technology
For the GT drivers, an upgraded titanium Speed Ring has been added to optimize ball speed, and Variable Face Thickness preserves consistency even on off-center ball strikes. With the GT fairways, a Forged L-Cup Face improves performance on strikes low on the face.

GT2 Driver
If you’re looking for speed and forgiveness across the face regardless of where you strike the ball, the Titleist GT2 will be the best fit for you. The upgraded Speed Ring and Variable Face Technology work together with a longer front-to-back clubhead and shallower clubface to achieve maximum stability. An interchangeable rear weight allows for customization based on your swing and playing style.

GT3 Driver
The Titleist GT3 driver is a great club for players who want to maximize their distance while controlling ball flight. A new Adjustable CG track is positioned closer to the face than on prior models, with five different CG locations to optimize speed and consistency based on player specific strike location tendencies. The GT3’s clubhead is more compact and pear-shaped than the GT2, and its clubface sits taller.

GT4 Driver
Exceptional low-spin performance to create a more penetrating and efficient ball flight is the goal of the Titleist GT4 driver. This driver has dual spin-control settings that consist of changing a heavier and lighter weight between two positions. This means players can elect for more aggressive spin reduction or a more stable setting with moderate spin reduction. The GT has a slightly smaller profile than the GT2 and GT3.
