  • Pro Tip: TaylorMade Spider FCG Putter -- Get Front-Loaded Forgiveness

    Pro Tip Get Front-Loaded Forgiveness

TaylorMade Golf is typically known for their rocket launcher woods and equally high-performing irons and wedges, but in recent weeks, it’s TaylorMade putters that have been in the spotlight on the PGA TOUR. TaylorMade putters have been growing in popularity ever since the introduction of their Spider Tour putter a few years ago. That original TaylorMade Spider putter was, and still is, used by many TaylorMade professional golfers like Dustin Johnson, Jason Day and Jon Rahm along with many other TaylorMade golf clubs in their bags.

The newest TaylorMade Golf putter takes the traditional Spider and cranks up the tech for a putter that looks like a mallet, feels like a blade and has the forgiveness of the Spider. This high-MOI mallet is built for golfers who have an arced putting stroke. TaylorMade Golf designed this Spider putter with a majority of the weight near the face, forcing the center of gravity (CG) much more forward so the toe releases freely like a blade; meanwhile, the Spider mallet shape and perimeter weighting help maintain the signature TaylorMade Spider family forgiveness.

TaylorMade Golf positioned two-thirds of the total weight in the front portion of the putter head through an adjustable weight along with heel and toe tungsten weighting. Pro tip # 25 -- optimizing the benefits of a high-MOI mallet putter will help you start putts on line and resist face twisting at impact. In fact, even the TaylorMade putter face is made from pure copper and adds 25 grams of weight as far forward as possible. This Aged Copper Pure Roll face also features a firmer feel that many players prefer for enhanced feedback.

The TaylorMade FCG Spider is available in three popular neck configurations including: Short Slant, L-Neck (plumber neck) and Single Bend. These necks each create a unique face balance angle to marry to how much or how little arc a player has in their putting stroke. Regardless, with so much mass near the face, the TaylorMade FCG Spider will have you rolling in more putts in no time.
