Pro Tip: Chipping Games for Your Backyard

    Updated: Aug 26, 2020
    Pro Tip Backyard Golf Games

After several consecutive days cooped up in the house, you’re probably itching for any reason to go outside. Have fun while continuing to self-isolate by setting up some golf games in your backyard!

    Darts

Just like it sounds but with a couple modifications. Scatter as many shag golf balls as you’d like around the Izzo Triple Chip Net. Feel free to play from the same distance or shake it up to make the game more difficult. The goal, much like in actual darts, is to get as many shots as you can "in" the net. Bullseye!

Getting the balls close is probably pretty easy, but getting them in the net (three different diameter size options) takes a bit more finesse. By playing with different lofted wedges, you will start throwing darts both into the net and onto the greens next time you play.

    • In/Bullseye = 10 points
    • Within 1 foot = 4 points
    • Within 2 feet = 3 points
    • Within 3 feet = 2 points

    Same Shot, Different Clubs

This game will help you get creative around the greens. Pick three different golf clubs and grab at least 3 golf balls. We recommend a sand wedge, a pitching wedge and an 8-iron, but you can play this game with any variation of clubs. Set up alignment sticks (or other golf clubs from your bag) five yards apart from each other, starting 10 yards from where you are hitting.

Using each club, try to land the ball in the first space (10-15 yards away). It’s ok if the ball bounces out of the area - the point is to work on your carry distances. Once you successfully hit one ball with each club into the area in a row, you can advance to the next area (15-20 yards) away and so on. If you miss, go back one area or start over - your choice!

    15 Chips

Take your Izzo Triple Chip Net, your preferred wedge(s) and 15 golf balls; drop five balls at an easy, medium and difficult location. For every chip you get in the net, give yourself two points. For every shot that’s within a foot of the net, give yourself one point; for anything outside of those distances, zero points. See how many points you can get and try to beat your high score!
