Compared to the 1st covert which was 4giving, this 2.0 Is spot on, even MORE forgiving which is CRAZY, SOUND and FEEL are Off the charts BETTER!!! even better Was that Ball SPEED loss was MiNIMAL all across the FACE!!!! only bad thing is u have to BRING it 4 the TOUR Version, just FYI i Swing @112-115, Ball SPEED@ 171+ also Matched With AN 83X DIAMANA WHITEBOARD, i tended to be a high ball/high spin hitter until the covert came out!!!!

Plays Golf: I play more than once a week  Dexterity: Right Hand

I purchased this in excellent condition and it arrived in such. You could see where it was hit a few times, but overall it was in great shape. No marks on the crown, only a few marks on the face where you could see where balls had been hit. I think this is more a product of the face color and material.

As for performance, it is long and accurate!!! I added about 10 yards (over a callaway razr fit xtreme) at my two range sessions thus far and have not gotten it dialed in all the way. It is easy to hit and the ball just explodes off of the club. Nice high launch, which I normally don't like as I spin the ball a ton, but in this case it just keeps going and from what I could see, gets a nice amount of roll. I did loft it up to 11.5 and seem to be getting the best results with this. I tried several settings, and this seemed to work best thus far, but I'll know for sure when I get on the course when I can see how far I am actually hitting it. I usually hit a 8.5 loft, and carry the ball about 260 in nice weather. At the range my current gamer was carrying about 230-240 in low 30 temps and this club was in the 250-260 range for carry. Yes it launches much higher than my other club, even on the lower setting, but it seems to be carrying much further. On good hits, I was 20+ yards past my current gamer.

I usually fall between a stiff and x-stiff flex, and usually choose stiff as it works better on bad days (where I just cant generate full swing speed, which seems like more the norm), and Kuro Kage shaft seems like a nice fit as it feels just a bit stiffer than a normal stiff. Similar stiffness to my whiteboard I usually use. The launch characteristics are different though, at least it seems that way right now.

As a comparison, I am a scratch player who plays 3-4 times a week. I am a good ball striker with the driver so the forgiveness of the club may vary depending on this factor.

I was very disappointed that the club I received was described as Mint however it did not come with the original red tacky grip. Despite that its a good driver, lots of pop from the club face.

Nike VRS Covert 2.0 Tour Driver

The new 2014 Nike VRS Covert 2.0 Tour driver improves on 2013's groundbreaking Covert Tour cavity-back driver thanks to Nike's golf research and design team. They're introducing a different club head shape with new design elements that make this a long distance driving machine. Let's take a look at what makes the Nike VRS Covert 2.0 Tour driver the best driver that Nike has made to-date.

The VRS Covert 2.0 Tour driver has a 460cc pear-shaped club head. This is an increase in size compared to prior Nike tour drivers that were previously no bigger than 440cc. In the address position the driver's footprint is a mere eleven percent larger. This increase in head size was necessary to create even more forgiveness.

The new driver features a unique fly-brace technology, which ties the sole to the crown of the golf club. With this technology, when a golf ball is struck, the rear portion of the golf club stiffens up creating more stability in the golf club. The stiffened rear portion of the club then transfers energy back to the face and then to the ball. The fly-brace technology increases the amount of total energy restored to the face, with the high-speed cavity back design aiding the process. Both of these features are design elements that create longer and straighter golf shots.

The NexCOR face technology has been reengineered by Nike to create a 15% larger sweet spot. The enhanced face has also yielded an 11% higher moment of inertia (MOI) over previous drivers. The new NexCOR face produces faster ball speeds that lead to increased distance.

The Flexloft adjustability is returning to the 2014 Nike product line. The Flexloft lets the golfer customize the driver to their specific needs. It allows an adjustment of loft and face angle separately from each other. The loft can be adjusted in one degree increments between 8.5 and 12.5 degrees and the face angle can also be set to three different positions: left, neutral or right. The driver comes with a wrench that makes all of the changes simple and easy. The ability to adjust the two will create the optimal launch needed for maximum distance and accuracy.

The Nike VRS Covert 2.0 Tour driver features a Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage Silver graphite shaft. The shaft weighs 60 grams which lends itself to faster swing speeds for increased distance. The new shaft has a titanium nickel fiber shaft tip for additional reinforcement. The reinforced shaft tip adds stability and reduces spin for a penetrating ball flight that produces maximum distance. These shafts are available in various flexes.

This year Nike has made a tour driver that can be played by any skill level. The fly-brace technology showcases state-of-the-art technology that produces superior energy transfer throughout the clubhead for extreme distance. The Flexloft adjustability allows the golfer to take command and custom fit the driver to their specific needs. The driver's club head size and reengineered NexCOR face achieve maximum playability and forgiveness resulting in longer shots off the tee.

So go ahead—Just Do It and grab the Nike VRS Covert 2.0 Tour driver.
