The Nike VR Forged Pro Combo irons feature a precision forged 1020 head construction with the X3X high-frequency groove system, which produces the most exacting Nike iron ever. It provides more grooves, which are deeper and closer together, resulting in more water and debris being channeled away from the face for optimal control. The long irons (3-6) feature a polymer filled Pocket Cavity for improved feel and more forgiveness on long shots; the short irons (7-PW) feature a Split Cavity for shot-shaping precision and control, resulting in unsurpassed feel and control in your short game.

I finally muscled the courage to buy these irons and I can tell you they are wonderful. The feeling of the forged head is great, so soft off the club face. I was worried if i couldn't handle how bladey the short irons were. You do need to be able to strike the ball well because they don't offer a ton of forgiveness, all the clubs look great at address. Overall, I couldn't be much happier.

Easy to hit forged clubs

These are very easy to hit forged clubs. I hurt my back and had to get something to accommodate a slower swing speed. The technology in these clubs make these clubs easy to hit with almost the feel of a traditional forged blade/muscle back iron. I had been using Mizuno muscle back blades which have a nicer feel but smaller sweet spot and required more club head speed.

I also tried some of the sole slotted irons. The Nike clubs don't go as far as the cast sole slotted irons, the feel is much better and the offset almost matches a blade - preferable if you hook.
