Handicap: 6-10 Plays Golf: I play more than once a week Dexterity: Right Hand
Got a used set of JPX EZ forged with the stiff 105XP shaft from Global a Golf. First of all, the folks at GG had awesome service (first time I''d used them, won't be my last). Clubs arrived in about two days and this included me getting new grips on the set - amazing and much appreciated as I wanted to have them in time for the weekend. Clubs were listed as "very good" and were as advertised. I could see where the original owner had a few issues with striking the ball on the toe ...no wonder they had traded them in! I'm a decent player, love the feel of forged clubs (used cavity backed forged irons from Mizuno previously.) but wanted something new and a bit more forgiving. Not getting any younger. Love the look of these - not thrilled with the cavity color - but do like the darker finish on the club heads. Have played several rounds with them and have been very pleased. While the feel is definitely more "forged" than a cast club, they are a bit more "muted" in feel versus my previous irons. That said, they feel very good and the ball flight is straight and high. Point and shoot - after a few holes I found myself firing at pins with good results. I got the irons for a bit more forgiveness and that's where they really shine - miss hits still get pretty good distance. Several times over the past few weeks I've survived less than perfect strikes and ended up with very playable shots where in the past I'd be hitting a wedge (sand or otherwise) on the next shot. Do yourself a favor and give these a try - Mizuno is known for making some of the best irons in the world so they know what they are doing. Forgiveness, nice distance (even on miss hits), and great feel. Also, give Global Golf a try - you'll be glad you did.
