    Description

The Callaway X Hot fairway wood is the hottest fairway wood in golf. It features Forged Speed Cup Frame Technology which generates the highest COR and CT in golf which translates into maximum ball speeds anywhere on the clubface. This will lead to more consistent distance even on mishits. The Modern Warbird Sole is designed for improved performance and distance from the fairway or the rough. The Dynamic Weight Projection features a heaving weighting element inside the head that projects from the sole towards the face into the area of the cup. This lowers the CG to produce a low spinning, penetrating trajectory for improved ball speed and great distance.

    Technology / Specs

    Callaway X-Hot Fairway Wood

Of all of Callaway's 2013 X Hot clubs, the X Hot fairway wood has received particular attention among industry insiders. This should come as no surprise: the X Hot fairway wood's incredible features and technology are a direct result of the company's dedication to creating the hottest and most playable clubs in golf.

    Callaway X-Hot Fairway WoodTechnology

The X Hot fairway wood's Forged Speed Frame Face Cup is made from ultra-strong Carpenter 455 stainless steel that is an amazing 40% thinner than 2012's RAZR X fairway wood. Its sweet spot is also 90% larger than the RAZR X's. Together, these two features produce a characteristic time (CT) level that just barely stops short of exceeding the USGA limit. The maximized CT enhances launch conditions while promoting accelerated ball speeds throughout the face.

For the X Hot's sole, Callaway has revamped the Warbird sole, which was made popular in the 1900s, for the 21st century. This modern version improves shot-shaping and overall performance with its more dynamic design.

The breakout feature of the X Hot fairway wood, however, is its Internal Standing Wave technology. This proprietary technology uses an innovative wave-shaped system to distribute weight as close to the face as possible without actually making contact with it. By strategically positioning the weight this way, the center of gravity is dramatically lowered, raising the moment of inertia and optimizing distance.

Callaway X-Hot Pro Fairway WoodStyle and Design

The X Hot fairway wood has a smooth, streamlined aesthetic with a glare-reducing matte gray crown and black face and sole. It also features red and white detailing as well as a subtle Chevron decal on the crown that acts as an alignment aid.

    The X Hot Pro

For low-handicap players, Callaway also offers the X Hot Pro fairway wood. The Pro model has the same technology as the standard one, but its head is slightly smaller and it comes with shorter shafts. Another difference is in the Pro's clubface, which sits 1° open at address while the standard X Hot's clubface is square. The Pro also does not have the alignment Chevron on the crown as better golfers would find it unnecessary. The standard X Hot comes in 3-, 4-, 5-, 7-, 9- and 11-wood versions; the X Hot Pro comes in 3-, 3T-, 4- and 5-woods. Both models come stock with Project X Velocity shafts.

The entire Callaway X Hot series is built for serious distance gains, but with its Internal Standing Wave technology, it's the X Hot fairway wood that truly stands out from the competition. Internal Standing Wave technology is sure to be featured in future Callaway fairway woods, but why wait when you can experience it now?
