Description

The TaylorMade R11 irons are cast from stainless steel and feature a precision weighting port in the cavity that produces precise swingweights and optimally located centers of gravity throughout the set. The faces in the long and middle irons are constructed using ultra-thin face thickness to promote faster ball speeds and more distance. They also feature progressive topline thickness, as well as progressive sole thickness that increase the MOI for more forgiveness on off-center hits. Its advanced groove design produces increased spin for improved control, while TaylorMade's Inverted Cone Technology promotes faster ball speeds from a larger portion of the clubface.

Great Iron
By Brunsie on 6/16/2012

I just purchased a set of R11 irons earlier this week and am a 13.8 Handicap. I have been struggling as of late, and have been hitting some Titleist 712 AP2 irons with project X 5.5 shafts. They are great irons, but were feast or famine for me. I hit a few balls on the range to get a feel for them and played 9 holes last night, shot a 45, which for new clubs, I wasn't complaining. This morning I hot a few balls before our round and shot a 80. These clubs have a balanced feel and are the most forgiving iron I have hit. I slowed my swing down and have not experienced any distance loss. I wasn't sure about chipping with the wedges, but they are great, I can roll them out or check them up. I would highly recommend.

Been playing the Nike Machspeeds for the past two years and felt like I outgrew them. They became clunky and uninspiring. Got an email from Global golf that lefty Taylormade products were 35% off. Saw the R11's (Mint aka brand spankin new) for a total of 359.00. Took em to the range...wow. My Nike 7 iron was good for 160....the R11.....170-175. Like goin' from a Yugo to a BMW. Thanks TM and thanks Global Golf....I feel like I have committed a crime at this price.

Handicap: 16-20  Plays Golf: I play more than once a week  Dexterity: Right Hand

I have a set of Burner 2.0, and a set of 360 XD. I had a chance to play the R11. I'm buying a set! Longer and straighter than the other Taylor Made irons I own. I expect my handicap to go down!

New Game

Handicap: 11-15  Plays Golf: I play monthly  Dexterity: Right Hand

I bought the R11 last week mainly because I had out grown my r7 CGB Max irons that had been playing for 2 years, and had fallen in love with. I took the r11's to play 18 the very next and found that they were 15 to 20 yards longer than the r7's. I shot an 92 that day, mainly due the fact that they were so much longer than my previous set. I played my home course on yesterday where i normally shot in the mid 80's. I BROKE 80 for the 1st time. These irons are amazing, long, forgiven, and easy to work. If a person is looking to get new irons I suggest getting a set of the r11's.

luv at first strike.....luv em....these clubs are literally tailored for me....tried hitting all other TM new brands such as the new RocketBladez and RocketBallz(which they were awesome too) but this R11 series had everything for me: feel, weight dist, looks....oh yea, and the fact i averaged 12 yards longer than my old set....these are staying in my bag indefinitely!

The Best of TaylorMade Comes Together

Technological Lineage

TaylorMade’s clubs have been popular with golfers worldwide because of their quality construction, innovative technology, and superior playability. The Burner 1.0 irons brought with them the proven, revolutionary Inverted Cone Technology (ICT). This optimized COR and forgiveness while eliminating vibrations with a dampening aluminum web. When added to TaylorMade’s already established quality construction, the Burner 1.0 irons quickly became a staple in golf bags everywhere. Golfers couldn’t ask for more.

Yet that’s exactly what TaylorMade gave them. The Tour Preferred irons introduced weight port technology for precisely located centers of gravity, resulting in consistent trajectory control. The progressive thicknesses of the toplines from short to long irons inspire more confidence.

Style and Design

R11 Iron Set Alternate Views

Now TaylorMade proudly presents the R11 irons, which combine the high-performance features of the Tour Preferred and the Burner 1.0. These include:

  • Strategically placed Precision Weighting Ports customized for each iron
  • Ultra-thin clubfaces on the long and middle irons
  • Progressively wider soles and toplines from the short to the long irons
  • Advanced groove design
  • Inverted Cone Technology
CG Location / Weight Port Placement

Each of these features improves your game in a specific way. The Precision Weighting Ports position the CG so that it’s not only low and deep, but it is kept in the center back of the clubface to give you more accurate and consistent shots.

R11 4-Iron Face/Core

The long and middle irons’ ultra-thin faces produce faster ball speeds across the entire face for additional distance. The long irons’ wide soles further deepen the CG for higher launches while the short irons’ narrower soles increase accuracy on tighter lies.

R11 Impact Zone / Grooves

The grooves create more spin and more control on rougher lies. The irons also use Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips for incredible traction and feel under all conditions.

To quote TaylorMade project leader Gary Gallagher: “Looks, technology, and performance; the R11 iron is the complete package.” The advanced engineering and attractive style of the R11 iron series will make it a golf bag staple for years to come. It is truly the only iron worthy of the R11 name.
