The new Forged Composite in the Callaway RAZR Hawk makes sense. I had the opportunity to hit the RAZR at the PGA Show Demo Day in Orlando last week and came away very impressed. The Forged Composite material in the crown and sole is lighter and stronger than Titanium…which means more club head speed paired with a 46" length shaft. Most drivers claim more distance with these longer shafts, but if the swing weight is D8 you can't generate any speed. The RAZR really feels balanced and the ball jumps off the face! Awesome new driver from Callaway!
I initially demo'd this club at an golf show. The trackman launch monitor showed my ss at 105 with 255 carry and 270 total yards with smash factor at 1.48. Those numbers were great and so I bought the driver from Global Golf. I've used it for 2 rounds and feel like I'm getting more spin than I would like. It's a solid driver but it doesn't seem that longer than my r9460. I have thoughts of exchanging it for the R11 as it has the added benefits of changing out shafts.
